I will be the first to say
That each can be an awful day
In a world of darkness and of hate
A world of fear and of doomed fate
All we have to light the way
Is one another, bright as day
To colour this, our colourless life
And slice through the fear with the sharpest knife
I can't help but think it's brighter like this
That beyond every hug, beyond every kiss
Now I'm safe to stand beside you
And with all my love, say I do

At least in America, today is known as the day Love Won! A lot of challenging stories are reaching a happy ending today, and even more are starting with happy beginnings. Although I'm not the greatest poet, I thought a day as beautiful as this deserves an attempt! And though there is still a long way to go to create an equal world, let's start with making our voices heard on this, the day of national legalization of same sex marriage regardless of gender, the day Love Won.
